Surefuser®
Elastomeric Infusion System
Surefuser®
is a disposable, continuous infusion system for ambulatory use that works
without batteries or electricity. The lightweight design and silent operation
allows patients to conduct their therapy without changing their lifestyle. Its
aim is to improve patient quality of life through new and innovative products
that have ambulatory and homecare applications. The Surefuser®
electrometric pump is available in 50ml, 100ml and 250ml volumes and provides a
wide variety of infusion times (from 30 minutes to 7 days).

is ideal for a wide range of therapies and the easy flow rate adjustment allows
for adjustment and change of dosage whenever it is needed.

CHEMOTHERAPY

CYSTIC FIBROSIS
Genetically inherited multi-system disorder (main organs affected are lungs,
liver and pancreas)

Treatment — various regimes of oral, nebulized and IV antibiotics can
prevent or delay chronic infections of the lungs

common antibiotics: Ceftazidime, Aztreonam, Tobramycine, Meropenem,
Piperacilline, Ciprofloxacine
THALASSAEMIA
A
group of genetic blood disorders that affect a person’s ability to produce
hemoglobin

Treatment — red blood cell transfusions provide patient with a temporary
supply of healthy red blood cells

Side
effects — iron overload can result in organ failure (liver and heart)

Chelation therapy —
removal of excessive iron by infusion of the drug Desferrioxamine (Desferal®)

Therapy sheme — Desferrioxamine is given subcutaneously three to five nights
per week; 8 – 10 hours)
